This island was first inhabited by the Amerindians more than 2,000 years ago. Later, during the 1500s, the Basques fishers settled here to live off fishing. Nowadays, you can visit this historic site that presents, among other things, Basques ovens dating back to the 16th century. The island is also a refuge for migratory birds. A few kilometres of paths will allow you to admire this avian fauna and the beautiful plants that grow on the ground.
