This area of the Bas-Saint-Laurent displays large green landscapes, and many legends tell stories about this sector. For many years, its land was used for agriculture, and it also was a great area where Basques whalers came to fish. The parc de l’aventure Basque is an important witness of this epoch. A quay and a marina remind visitors of the important role of the River in this area. For many years, this sector transformed into a real vacation centre once summer comes, and it still does nowadays.

From here, you can go on a cruise to Île aux Basques or celebrate the beautiful colours in fall. There are numerous birds of prey and just as many peat bogs, where an extraordinary living organism develops. The phare de Pointe-au-Père is full of history, while the Pointe-au-Père National Wildlife Area is home to an interesting fauna and flora. Let yourself be charmed by this region.
